Ok, so it's not Henshin related, but I think we should all group together to stamp out a disgusting evil present in the world.
I contemplate the injustice in the world when truly talented individuals like Joe Strummer, Johnny Cash, Joey Ramone, Buck Owens, Hasil Adkins have left this mortal plane, yet, a snivelling talentless shit like PHIL FUCKIN' COLLINS continues to spew forth banal infuriating feces that is hailed as "music"
I FUCKIN HATE HIM!!!!!!!! Twisted Evil

Too True.
No idea how he ever managed to get this far in the entertainment industry. Hopefully not by looks alone...

I agree; Mr. Collins really does suck wet farts from dead pigeons and should be exterminated. He is not guilty of writing the worst pop song ever, though. That acolade must go to Mr. Knobfluff of Dire Straits with the song "Walk of Life". Repetition in music always treads a fine line between catchiness and annoyance, and this one plunges well over the boundary with a little riff that goes up and down and repeats over and over, plus the video of sportspeople falling would barely challenge the intellect of a lobotomised amoeba.

Any other nominations for worst pop song ever?

Are you guys mad?! Phil Collins is the best! Without him, I would have to eat my cornflakes all crunchy, and they might harm my delicate palate or disturb my digestion, or my teeth might explode from the strain of crunching them! All I have to do is turn on my "Phil COllins PLacid Flacid Classids" album and they immediately turn into a fine mushy soup/paste which I can easily ingest from a special tube that goes straight into my colon.

I'm not done with this thread by any means. What about Madonna? She has no voice, just a gimmick, but it's the oldest gimmick of them all - sex. What a shame the media cannot actually sell us real sex, just titillation and images. I’m no prude, but sex is sex, for god’s sake, and music is music, and one does not fulfill the needs of the other. Rock and Roll has always had its sexy aspect, but when it is unaccompanied by any actual musical content or vocal ability it becomes a parody, a sad indictment of our empty and over stimulated times. What an overrated, artificial, talentless old crow. May she be flushed into the toilet of cultural memory amidst the swirling of many turds.

Hypno, whil eI live your colourful (i.e. borwn) toilet and turns swishing simile's, I must say that I really do like some of madonna's stuff, if not her image. Particularly some of the early stuff she didn't write was great - Get Into the Groove is a classic pop masterpiece. Nowadays she's going to the mall with Rosie O'donnel to do kaballah and then run home to write a story about how her kid is really the most popular in the whole shool, she even awesomer than ever! Ha. No, but I like some of theold stuff.

Phil COllins is still alive to keep the masses medicated and to prevent revolution. He's kind of like Weekend at Bernie's, he;s not really alive, but they keep up appearances for utilitarian purposes...

But Baz, that's precisely my point. She may be somebody you'd want to bang, but unless her sexual services are actually for sale, you can't, and they aren't, so what's the point in listening to her awful nasal droning? It's the whole modern media thing - that bangability is synonymous with talent - that gets me. Madonna merely epitomizes this, but nearly all “chart” music has gone this way. Her latest video keeps flashing close-ups of her crotch in a high cut leotard, and that is really all she has to offer the world. But when you go out and buy the marketed product, it’s a CD, and all you get is a couple of pictures of her on the cover, and an album of awful, bland songs sung by a studio-enhanced, substandard vocalist.

Johnny, all musical taste is subjective, so I should resist the temptation to rant like this, but I do love to hate popular music. Get into the Groove never struck me as a masterpiece, but for those who found it so, surely that fact that she didn’t pen it means that they could have found a better vocalist. I despise Whitney Houston’s trashy catalogue of comestible bilge almost as much, but there’s no doubt that she can actually sing. All she needs is a decent writer and to come off hard drugs.

I suppose what I really hate about Madonna is not her actual self, although she is an ugly voiced old slag, and not her music, although it is appalling, but the world’s reaction to her. I am reminded of those work situations when someone passes a pornographic picture around and if you don’t make an appropriate response, ie “Phwooaaar I’d like to get it up that one,” your heterosexuality gets questioned. Her “good looks” are a separate issue from her music. The fact that Madonna has preserved her looks so far, probably with plenty of cosmetic surgery as well as fitness, is the only thing keeping her in the charts. The minute those looks go, and they will one day, nobody is going to buy the music.

Phil Collins is still alive because death is too good for him.

A&Rguy1: yo dude, have you seen Phil Collins' corpse?
A&Rguy2: yeah, i think Smith took it home last weekend for a party.
A&Rguy1: Oh Man! Last time he did that, he broke three of Phil's fingers off and lost two of them!
A&Rguy2: so that's why he's been wearing that mitten...

I understand Phil Collins' corpse recently failed his driving test. He left his foot on the clutch.

Phil Collins' corpse parties... now there's an idea. Bryan, you just started the next craze.

From most negative, to most positive in a nutshell.
Madonna ruined guy ritchie. That sucks. Madonna can sing a song that bjork or someone else wrote pretty well, but not as good at the composer. Poppa don't preach is a pretty positive song that advocates being responsible about the outcome of living the "loose" madonna lifestyle. and finaly the good bit. The human nature video. And her part in the film 4 rooms. I'm like a crow. Hahahaha
And as for phil collins. He wrote the drum part for that dumbass miami vice song . Watch people butcher it on the airdrums. Hahahahah. What a douschebag.

Do you stateside chaps get the repulsive Oasis, or are they just a British phenomenon? When Marillion came out sounding exactly like progressive era Genesis, I thought plagiarism had truly arrived as an art form, but these vile little yobs make Derek Dick look like a master of originality. They write the most mindless, meaningless lyrics I have ever heard, and they make my fists itch. Lock them in a small cupboard with Phil Collins' corpse!

Well, Oasis are a sad buncha MANCS with
a Beatles wannabe obsession!

...there are some people who really like Oasis in the states, but not many, and they fall into three categories:

-chicks who think they're hot
-dudes who like anything from England regardless of quality
-people who like british accents

you could lump them all into the category of people who just dont care about music in general.

BAZ, i always thought they sounded more like the Sex Pistols if they were re-made by the GAP clothing store instead of M.McLaren.
