Its a brilliant link. Been looking for it for ages. Does anyone have a link to the 'clown factory site' mentioned so that I can have a look at the space stuff? Thanks.

I bought a knock-off GI Joe -- blowmold with Tommy Gunn head. Does anyone know anything about the figure?

Depending on body and face paint it is most likely Action Buddy. That head mold was also used briefly
by Mego for 2nd edition Fighting Yank
that I believe was put out during Lawsuit before 3rd 1970 head mold was used. Moretoys also released it
on the Johnny Battle figure. There are a few more varations but that's all I can think of now.
Anybody know any other confirmed uses for the Tommy Gunn head mold. I was told Chearila used the head
as a generic figure with vehicles anybody know anything about this?
I have a soft spot for the Tommy Gunn Ko's. He was there with my Joes during all the battles of my youth.
So it was possible to have a Tommy Gunn here in the US.

Hi folks,
I note there are quite a few collectors looking for info on Zodiac Toys and its own brand merchandise especially Tommy Gunn.
I was in retail operations with Zodiac from the early 70s until 1986, first as an area manager, later Retail Director for my sins. Whilst I was never involved in a buying capacity I do have some info on merchandise.

I recently launched a website dedicated to Zodiac. You can find it at ....

www.freewebs.com/zodiactoys

The only listings I have for merchandise ranges date from 1985, so are not comprehensive. The items from the Tommy Gunn range at that time were:

Talking SAS Tommy Gunn Soldier £4.99 launched in 1983 (4 different phrases)

TG English Soldier £2.49

TG German Soldier £2.49

Outfits etc.

SAS Bomb Disposal outfit £1.25

SAS divers outfit £1.25

Safari Outfit £1.25

Super astronaut £1.25

Deep Sea Diver £1.25

Skin Diver £1.25

Army medic £1.25

Parachute outfit £1.25

Polar mission £1.25

Sabotage outfit £1.25

SAS Machine Gun set accessories £2.45

TG 40pc Action accessories £0.49

Space series Ö

TG Caidoz figure £0.99 (reduced to clear) note Caidoz is Zodiac backwards

TG Talking Galactic Commander £4.75

TG Cosmic Commander £2.49

TG Super astronaut £1.25

A couple of scans to follow .....

Questions?? ask away ..... not sure I can answer them though .... Duh!

Fantastic site! I loved my local Zodiac as a kid, so many memories.

Thanks for posting, and for the nostalgia.

Thanks for your appreciation and kind words. I can't find any more TG images at present. I'm trying to track down some of my old colleagues who might know more. But unless they've hoarded stuff like me for 20 years, there is little hope of discovering more. If I do find anything I'll post it here and on my website.

Missing from the above list is the TG Horse which we didn't stock in 1985 when that list was collated. There were of course other outfits in previous years, but I don't have those details and my memory is not what it was.
To give you some idea of volume sales, in 1985 we sold through 80+ branches 6000 TG Talking SAS figures, 4000 English soldiers and 1750 Germans. Plus around 15000 outfits., best of which was Bomb Disposal at 2150. I have an odd item called TG Armoury pen which we sold 5400 of at 40p, but I canít think what it was or did.

Great find!!!!!!!!!! These don't show up often that I have seen! It also looks like this on has the pink skin tone rather than the more common orange tone. Was that the one Mark had for sale?

Zodiac sales figures for Tommy Gunn are great! Zodiac Toys were definately selling a lot of TG stuff. I wish I knew what the the other packaging looks like for Space series.

Here's a pic of the Talking SAS figure:

Got it off ebay. Whos Mark? Question

I've bought off the seller a lot so he ended the listing and sold it to me for 60 quid all in! All I need is an SLR rifle, an Action Man one I have spare will do me fine.

Where did you get the SAS pic from? Is it your doll?

The 60's TG is pretty cool, and superior to Action Man in some cases.
Keep kicking myself for not buying as many TG figures as I did with Action Man when Zodiac had their closing down sales!!
I'm talking 99p for Action Man figures!!!!!

Sadly I didn't get back in time to bid on the Talking Tommy Gunn SAS figure boxed before it closed. DOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It ended on a Tuesday and was listed in the wrong catagory. So it sold for a song and I missed it! Sad This is also the only boxed example I have ever seen.

Mark S has had many nice Zodiac Tommy Gunn items for Sale on Ebay. He's a good guy and a big UK Tommy Gunn fan. He had a similar figure for sale on Ebay a while back. Recently he had a sweet Zodiac TG Mutant for sale that I bid on but didn't make the reserve.
