I'd love to write the stor for this one, but I am not exactly an expert...

The Pink Haired Zodiac astronaut is indeed difficult to find.
When I try looking up PINK HAIRED TOMMY GUNN figures,
this is what turns up:

(Ye who are pure of heart avert your eyes now)

Bazza & Johnny, never mind the warning.

Okay fells, you need to spill yer guts about this toyline...
I only know bits and pieces...

Well, I had HOPED, to get somebody started.

Tommy Gunn was produced by Pedigree toys in the UK in 1966 to compete with action man. The bodies would alter be used for the wonderful - Captain Scarlet 12" figure.

Good Job Guy!
I will try to get something together over the next few days
on Tommy Gunn. There is so much unknown about
Zodiac Tommy Gunn space line but I will tell what I know.

Yeah, the 60's Tommy Gunn is regarded as much superior to the equivalent Action Man of the time.
Hence the higher prices on the rarer TG stuff.
Of course, the "underdog" usually gets more praise.
I've had a few TG items through the years, but nostalgia keeps driving me back to Action Man!!!
Oh, and Cyborg!!

The 1960s Tommy Gunn is very well made and high quality. The Grenadier Guard set is even better than Action Man version. To be honest my favorite is the Zodiac Tommy Gunn figures. The space line is a big favorite of mine as well as the blonde Painted head scarcity and flocked hair versions. Can anyone explain the differences in TG Space Helmets? The Talking TG Spaceman uses the Captain Action Flash Gordon helmet modified while these helmets are softer and may have a neck color piece.

Exclusive Blonde painted head Belgium version of Tommy Gunn

Heres a boxed TG version that I have rarely seen. I don't own but wouldn't mind having.

Mr. Green I'm glad this stuff was posted. I'm a vintage and repro Action Man collector and have recently embarked on buying a few Tommy Gunn items. Mine are from the Zodiac era, I got this lot of Pedigree era TG acessories for 58.50 with postage,

the seller sold me another set of webbing, Commando cloth cap and machine gun with clip for another 30.00 which is a bargain as the webbing alone can fetch 27.50p or more without postage on ebay even!
I also won this rare bearded Zodiac TG Paratrooper for the opening bid of 12.99 + postage, I was sole bidder!

These other 2 dolls are a talking one (in cammo) and a flocked one. The talker is in mint condition, won him for 15.00, the other I bought for 20.00 on a buy now. The seller was kind enough to add 2 TG green army shirts and a pair of trousers for him.

I'd like to know more about these guys, in particular the space range as seen in the other pics.......

I have only seen one ad Tommy Gunn from Zodiac and it was low resolution but it showed the
Space Alien Android(green guy)Talking Space Commander, and the grey Mutant figure(rarest).

As far as flocked hair colors I have seen blonde, brown, and black. The
blonde flocked hair is the hardest to find. Blonde Painted head is the absolute hardest to find.

Another odd fact is there are 2 body varations of talking figures one chest is heat
sealed and the other has screws holding chest together. The talking body is
1/2 copied from Dynaman figure and is slightly taller.
I have never seen any packaging for any of the Zodiac Space line figures. There are suposed to be more
than 3 figures in this Action figure line.
The Tommy Gunn line is a great toy line with tons of varations
and very few packaged items ever showing up on Ebay.
I also have found one pink/flesh skin toned varation figure instead of the regular orangish colored ones.

Nice pics. Can you post more (when you have the time) of just the TG dolls? Also, where did you get the pics of the dressed SPACE MUTANT and dressed Green Space Android TGs? Any web links you can provide?

I'm looking forward to receiving my TG gear and Para, will post some pics when I do. My TG talkers the type with screws in his back.

Were the Zodiac range made specifically for sale in the now defunct UK Zodiac Toy shops? Or was the company simply called Zodiac?

Questions, questions! Sorry! Embarassed

There is almost no information on Tommy Gunn out there it's all word of mouth though I am told there are dealers in UK who know a great deal but will only talk if you are spending big bucks.
It is my understanding that the Zodiac Toys were made for the Zodiac Toy stores. There is a Tommy Gunn that was "Made exclusively for Debenhams" and is stammped on it's back wich is another store though that seems to have had an exclusive TG figure of some type.
Google Tommy Gunn and see what you find to find web sites. Many sites that showed anything Tommy Gunn are now gone. I think the Japanese ssite called Clown factory had some stuff. Many pics I have have either been from my collection or copied from Ebay auctiions.
GUY what sites do you reccomend?

Nice one. If anyone has a loose TG they want rid of, contact me, I'm only in need of a loose painted head doll really.
