I forget the exact name of these,I have the boxes they came in but they are packed away. They're armored fighting suits.I got them on sale the one and only time I went to the Outer Limits in New Jersey.
I bought about ten different kits. They are small, about Microman size.

Shocked
They are stunning!
You've got 10 of these babies?
They are crying out for a big diorama display.

Thanks.

Those fighting suits are really well made. They have some parts that are wire mesh, and actual springs and a couple of little copper plates here and there and some of the parts on them are moveable,so they are somewhat pose-able.About eight or ten years after I got them I saw some reproduction versions that came in a different styled box. They remind me of the Takara Microman mighty suits.

The pictures themselves are great. Nice depth of field! Are they taken on 35mm film and then scanned in? Regardless, looks great!

Beautiful Auroras, Monolith. I also collect them.

I collect the fighting suits, too. As Baz correctly states, the are the SF3D series by Nitto. I tried to make mine less military in appearance by painting them jolly colours.

I heard that the SF3D range were not very successful and helped to put Nitto out of business. It's a shame because they're beautiful. They are tricky to make, though, with all the tiny bits of tubing and metal parts. I love the one that has weighted feet.

SF3D were originally scratch built by someone called Kow, who is a bit of a legend in Japanese model making. He used bits of other kits. The main body of one suit is actually a helicopter cockpit, and another has a camera for a hand. Nitto then made proper kit versions of them. I have some issues of Hobby Japan that have beautiful colour photos of many scratch built suits that never got released as kits. I'll try to get 'em scanned.

Baz-I didn't know they made a 1/6 scale fighting suit for Combat Joe,that sounds awesome!

Micromanzone-Yes my photos were taken on a 35mm camera and then I scanned the prints. The original prints look a little better than the scans.

Hypnotator-Awesome collection!I wish I had room to display all of mine like you have yours.Mine are packed away right now.
I noticed you have the Aurora Monster Scenes Creature, thats my favorite model that I don't have yet.Gotta get one of those.

I'd love to see scans of those scratch-built fighting suits!

Speaking of Aurora-Moebius Models recently made some reproductions of the infamous Aurora Monster Scenes kits.
