There is now a new and amazing web site for Colorform Aliens by their creator MEL BIRNKRANT. If your the kind of guy who wants to see prototypes, original sketches, photos dioramas, and know all the behind the scenes stuff this is the spot for you.

Colorform Aliens were designed to be played with Matt Mason figures back in the late 1960s. The designes were inspired by many old Sci-Fi movie monsters shown in Famous Momsters of Filmland magazine. I think many of the designs still hold up like Astronautilis, Orbitron, and Colossus Rex fit in with Cyborgs.

Baz,
How did you feel about the diarama scenes Mel created and photographed for Outer Space Men cards? I thought he did a good job on the lighting and set design ect.
I had the Maxx FX before but didn't open it. I have one on the way and inted to rip it out of package quickly! LOL

Indeed they are cool. They are the sort of "non licensed character" toys we tend to thrive on around here.

Still expecting you to post yer vinyl versions Billy... Wink

They are a bit cheap and cheesy Sci-Fi looking.
But they are bloody cool.
I would have went bonkers on them in the 70's in the toyshops lol.

Oh yea, the photos ARE awesome!!! Very "David Levinthal" I think.
Maybe they DIDN'T suck so much. They are pretty darn cool.

Hmm, I hope that site is mirrored or archived though...I noticed it is hosted on Geocities, which is going to be closed very soon last I heard. Sad
