I was quite surprised when I saw the molds as well. I was going to have my girlfriend try and tell me what he was doing as I could not see how he would be able to flow the resin into the mold from the center. I don't think I could make that method work with the pressure caster. I've never come across spin casting but should look into it. Fantasticplastic is right in that the heating could make the flow easier. I have read that before. I know they recommend that when doing metal figures.

What you want to look for is "rotocasting". I've cast metal in this method before. The heating could make sense as it would need to be liquid for it to work. I've also heard of people casting things but literally tying the mold to a rope and swinging it as opposed to placing the mold in a centrifuge machine.

Sounds a bit brutal. I was quite pleased with the way I got around this by incorporating a big funnel into the mould - Hypno's demonic condom method.

I can appreciate that the casting medium might need heating, but it seems strange to put the mould itself into an oven, when it looks like plastic and it also looks like it needs to be spun, which would surely be difficult in there.

What were you casting in metal, Dokuro?

Small stuff the I carved from wax. Like rings, etc. I think the only thing I have left in my possession is a small silver rabbit I made.

The rotocasting is really interesting as an alternative to vacuum chambers. Looks like he got some really nice bubble free clear runs in there.

I think the oven was just for curing the mold.
