Ross selling toys for Haiti appeal
Published Date: 23 January 2010
Jonathan Ross has announced he is selling some of his vast toy collection to raise money for the Haiti earthquake appeal.
The BBC presenter took to Twitter on Friday morning to say he was donating items from his haul of Japanese toys to charity to clear some space in his north London home - but he is expecting the toys will be snapped up by buyers in Japan, where manga and anime comics merchandise is more sought-after, and has decided to sell them via the Mandarake toyshop in Tokyo.
He wrote: "I need to sell off some of my old toys - have completely run out of space! You guys interested in selling them for me?"
He later added: "Have spoken to my toy dealer and he's selling (some) of my toys off for me, proceeds going to Haiti. Will let you know what we raise!"
Asked where he was selling them, he replied: "Mainly Japanese so selling them there because they will raise more. Some will be sold via Mandarake in Shibuya I think."
Does anyone know how to locate these auctions?
